# Microsoft SQL Server

  Explo only supports SQL Server 2016 and later.

## Necessary Credentials

* **Server**

  * The server where your database lives

  * Example: *x.database.windows.net*

* **Port**

  * The port the database server uses

  * Example: *1433*

* **Database**

  * Name of the database you are connecting Explo to
  * Example: *acme\_production*

* **Username**

  * Service user's username

* **Password**

## Allowlisting Explo's IPs

  You may need to allowlist egress IPs for your
  [Connectivity Region](/data-sources/connecting-to-data-sources/connectivity-regions).

## SSH Tunnels
